How Sober Friend listings work
Sober Friend is a free directory of sober living homes, treatment centers, intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, and recovery consultants in the United States, with 4,385 public listings as of 2026-09-27. This page explains exactly what a listing does and does not tell you.
Where listings come from
Listings are compiled from public sources and operator submissions. Details can change — contact the home to confirm availability, pricing, and licensing.
Anyone who runs a listed home or program can claim its listing for free, then edit it directly.
What “Verified operator” means
Managed on Sober Friend by its operator through an active account.
It does not mean we have checked a state license, NARR certification, accreditation, staff credentials, clinical quality, or outcomes. Ask the provider for those directly — a reputable home will share them.
How fresh a listing is
Listing pages show a date that reads “Listing updated”. It is the last time anything in that listing’s record changed, whether the change came from the operator or from our side, so it does not mean the details were reviewed on that date. Prices are what the operator or public source listed, not a quote.
How listings are ordered
Within a city, operator-managed listings on paid Sober Friend plans can appear higher, and a small number of Featured partners are placements our team curates. Order is not a rating or recommendation.
Corrections and removal
If a listing is wrong, the operator can claim it and edit it. On an unclaimed listing, the owner can also request changes or removal from the listing page. Questions: hello@soberfriend.io.
